Warren Hill named to PASLC All-Tournament Team

Oct 9, 2026

For many athletes, the Olympics represent the pinnacle of sport. Lacrosse was last featured at the Olympic Games as a demonstration sport in 1948. Now, 80 years later, it is set to return to the Olympic stage in 2028, this time as a medal sport.

Two current Halifax Thunderbirds represented their nations at the continental qualifiers this past week, but for Warren Hill, competing on the international stage was another chapter in a long history of success in the sport.

Hill helped lead the Haudenosaunee Nationals to a bronze medal at the 2026 Pan American Sixes Lacrosse Championships in Oshawa, while also earning a spot on the All-Tournament Team.

Across four games, Hill posted a 49 percent save percentage, good for fifth among all goaltenders in the tournament. Of the tournament’s top five goaltenders, Hill was the only one to play the full 32 minutes in every game, with the Nationals electing to roster just one goaltender for the competition.

He finished the tournament with 45 saves, the most of any goaltender. Thirteen of those saves came in the bronze medal game against Team Puerto Rico, where Hill came up with key stops throughout a back-and-forth battle to help secure the medal for the Haudenosaunee.

As one of the more veteran members of the Haudenosaunee Nationals, Hill’s experience was on full display throughout the tournament. In a fast-paced version of the lacrosse such as Sixes, his leadership and calming presence remained constant from the opening whistle through the final buzzer.

With lacrosse set to make its Olympic return in 2028, Hill’s performance in Oshawa helped lead their team to secure a spot in the World Championships next November. It is also another reminder of the experience, leadership and talent he brings to the game, both on the international stage and between the pipes for the Thunderbirds.
