HALIFAX, NS (October 16, 2026) -- The Halifax Thunderbirds announced today that the team has signed defender David Peterkin to a three-year contract.

Peterkin, 22, was recently selected by the Thunderbirds in the second round (29th overall) of the 2026 NLL Draft.

A former OJLL Transition Player of the Year finalist, Peterkin played five years for the Toronto Beaches as a defender who could push the ball up the floor and produce.

This summer, he jumped to senior ball, splitting time with the MSL’s Six Nations Chiefs and the OSL’s Six Nations Rivermen. Playing as a forward, Peterkin finished the summer with 17 points in five outings. With the Rivermen, he added eight goals and 18 points in six games.
