"KING OF THE.....HILL"

After his performance in the Thunderbirds inaugural season, Warren Hill solidified his nickname in Halifax as the 'King of the Hill' with electric saves and lights out performances, and a nomination for the 2019-20 Goaltender of the Year Award. After posting a league leading 8-1 record, the three year NLL goaltender has settled into his home in Halifax, and most importantly his home between the pipes.

The soft-spoken goaltender when asked about his nomination said, "It’s an honour to be nominated. I have to give a lot of credit to my teammates and the coaches. They all made my job that much easier.” His love for the game and 'quick to forget' mentality has proven to lighten the mood in the huddle, a quality his teammates value in the young goaltender.

The 5'10" goalie out of Six Nations is no stranger to guarding the net, playing his collegiate career with 2x NJCAA Champion Onondaga CC, and two years at the Division I level with Syracuse. Hill was drafted in the second round of the 2016 NLL Draft by the Georgia Swarm, where he was later signed by the Knighthawks in 2019.

Hill began to gel with the Knighthawks defense in the latter half of 2019, finishing the season with a 4-2 record, and capturing the attention of the rest of the league. In the move to Halifax, Warren kept that run going with an impressive 6-0 start for the Thunderbirds, and a seat as 'King' atop the North Division standings.

It was questioned when Hill took over the starting role at the 2019 WILC Tournament, whether or not he could prove himself as a starter. Those words were fuel for Hill, as he backstopped the Iroquois Nationalsto a Silver Medal, and solidified his spot on the map of goalies to look out for in the upcoming NLL season.

In 11 games Hill amassed 590 minutes of play, posting a 9.65 GAA (goals against average), and finished second in the league in save percentage (.809%).

Early in his career Hill plans to add his name along the likes of his cousin, Roger Vyse, and uncle, Cam Bomberry, who both played in the NLL for the Bandits and Knighthawks, respectively. Hill often brags with his twin brother that he has successfully taken over the heart of a city. While in three seasons Hill has found himself playing in three different cities, it is Halifax that he plans to finally call home.
