Thunderbirds to Wear Specialty Jerseys on the Road in Buffalo

Feb 24, 2020

On Saturday, the Thunderbirds head to Buffalo for their second of three meetings with the Bandits, as they look to create separation in the league leading North Division. This matchup however will carry extra weight for both teams, as the Bandits host their annual Tucker Out Lymphoma Night.

The evening will honour the memory of Tucker Williams, son of longtime NLL forward Shawn Williams, who spent time with Toronto, Buffalo, and Rochester in his 17 year career. In 2014 Tucker lost his battle with Burkitt lymphoma, but his memory and love for the game continues on within the lacrosse community each and every day.

During the game, both Bandits and Thunderbirds players will wear special “Braver Than Brave” jerseys and shorts to be auctioned off online, benefitting Pediatric Cancer Care.

Thunderbirds game-worn/issued jerseys are currently available to be bid on by fans at HERE. Additional items, including Tucker Out Lymphoma game used/issued shorts, goal balls and more will be added to the auction throughout the week leading up to and during the game.

The jersey and shorts auction will end at the beginning of the third quarter of Saturday’s game (approximately 8:15 p.m Eastern) for Bandits specific tops and bottoms. The auction for Halifax jerseys and shorts will end on Monday, March 1 at 6 p.m. Eastern. Payment and shipping details will be emailed to each winner at the conclusion of each auction.
