Thunderbirds sign Drew Hutchison to one-year contract

(HALIFAX, NS) October 17, 2023 – The Halifax Thunderbirds today announced that the team has signed goaltender Drew Hutchison to a one-year contract. 

“I’m extremely excited to re-sign with the Thunderbirds. I can’t wait to get back to The Nest this season,” Hutchison said.

Hutchison, 25, just finished his first season in the NLL after being selected by the Thunderbirds in the second round (18th overall) of the 2021 NLL Draft. 

In his first game as a professional, Hutchison saw work against the Philadelphia Wings, taking over for Warren Hill in the closing minutes of a big win and shutting the door. He followed that up by winning his first career game in his first-ever start in New York in the team’s next contest. 

Hutchison finished the season with a 1-1 record across 18 games with a 13.61 goals-against average and a .710 save percentage.
