HALIFAX, Nova Scotia (June 23, 2022) - The Halifax Thunderbirds today announced they have signed forward Clarke Petterson to a one-year contract.
Petterson, 24, led the Thunderbirds in scoring last season. The right-hander finished with 72 points (26G, 46A). He also collected 82 loose balls and caused seven turnovers. In the postseason, the Toronto native recorded five points (1G, 4A) and eight loose balls.
“Clarke has a super high lacrosse IQ and sees the floor really well,” Styres said. “He’s a player that can feed the ball and also find the back of the net. Clarke is quickly becoming a leader in our Thunderbirds family on and off the floor, and I see him being with us a long time and bing a guy we really lean on.”
Selected No. 5 overall in the 2019 NLL Entry Draft by the Thunderbirds, Petterson has played in 28 regular season games. He has 110 points (42G, 68A), 140 loose balls, and eight caused turnovers.
