Thunderbirds re-sign Stephen Keogh

Halifax, Nova Scotia – The Thunderbirds have announced that they have signed veteran Stephen Keogh to a one-year agreement.
Keogh began his career with the Knighthawks as the second overall selection in the 2011 NLL Entry Draft, where he remained with the organization for six seasons (2012-17). He played a vital role in the Knighthawks successes on the floor in that time, helping to capture three straight NLL titles. In 2017 he was dealt to the Colorado Mammoth where he spent two seasons before returning back to Rochester through a trade. The Syracuse alum missed most of the 2018-19 season due to injury.
“I’m excited to be a part of bringing professional lacrosse to Halifax and extremely eager about joining the team,” said Keogh. “After having my season cut short last year with a knee injury, I am ready to get back out there and battle with my teammates. We have a great group of guys and I am grateful for this opportunity and the faith that Curt and Mike have in my abilities.”
Keogh brings a wealth of knowledge to the right side of the Thunderbirds offense as he enters his ninth season in the National Lacrosse League. Throughout Keogh’s career he has played in 109 regular season games, scoring 168 goals and adding 168 assists.
“Keogh brings grit and intensity to the team,” said Head Coach Mike Accursi. “He’s strong, fearless, and talented. Once he starts going to the net, he’s real tough to stop. Our staff believes in him and he’s shown he believes in us by signing back with us. Halifax is going to love Keogh as much as we do.”
