Thunderbirds ink Max Wilson to three-year extension

HALIFAX, NS (August 28, 2026) – The Halifax Thunderbirds announced today that the team has signed defender Max Wilson to a three-year contract extension.
“I'm ready to bring the juice for another three years, and am excited to be staying home!” Wilson said.
Wilson, 27, has spent all four of his seasons in the National Lacrosse League as a member of the Thunderbirds. The franchise selected him in the first round (12th overall) of the 2021 NLL Draft.
The Victoria, British Columbia native appeared in 10 contests for the Thunderbirds last season, totalling two assists, 16 loose balls, and six caused turnovers. He added three appearances in the postseason with Halifax, finishing with six loose balls and a caused turnover while helping the team to the NLL Finals.
Across 42 career outings, Wilson has one goal and seven points, along with 66 loose balls and 19 caused turnovers.
