Thunderbirds ink Johnny Pearson to one-year extension

HALIFAX, NS (August 13, 2026) -- The Halifax Thunderbirds announced today that the team has signed defender Johnny Pearson to a one-year contract extension.

Pearson, 30, is a seven-year National Lacrosse League veteran, having spent his last four seasons as a member of the Thunderbirds.

The Langley, British Columbia native appeared in 16 regular-season games with Halifax last season, registering a point, 14 loose balls, two caused turnovers, and 15 blocked shots. He added a goal and two points along with nine loose balls and a block across six playoff outings.

In 83 career games, Pearson has 13 goals and 24 points, as well as 151 loose balls, 23 caused turnovers, and 45 blocks.
