Halifax, Nova Scotia - The Halifax Thunderbirds announced earlier today that they have signed Chris Boushy to a two-year deal. The young and talented forward has a lot to bring to the new franchise in Halifax.

“I’m beyond excited to be apart of bringing professional lacrosse to Halifax,” said Boushy. “Signing in Halifax for the next two seasons means I get to see the city immerse themselves into the culture, and the sport of lacrosse at the professional level. The amount of support the city has shown already is amazing and that was definitely a major selling point to me when making my decision.”

Boushy was acquired by Rochester from the Calgary Roughnecks on March 7, 2019 in exchange for a fourth-round pick in the 2020 National Lacrosse League Entry Draft.

“Boushy a player made an impact right away scoring 7 goals in his first game,” said Owner and General Manager Curt Styres. “Chris is young and talented player and proved he’s capable of playing in the National Lacrosse League.”

In the 2018-19 season, Boushy finished fifth in the NLL in points among rookies with 36. He posted a career high of seven goals and nine points in his Knighthawks debut on March 15th, 2019. Before being traded, Boushy played in eight games with Calgary, posting eight goals and six assists.

“I’m excited to have Chris sign on for the next two years,” said Head Coach Mike Accursi. “He is one of the young up and coming talents in this league and he is continuing to grow as a player and I’m excited to be apart of the process. Boushy is a dynamic player with a great shot and great floor vision. He’s going to be a player to watch.”
