Thunderbirds Activate Robinson, Move Becker To Practice Squad, Add Hill To Evaluation Period List

Feb 13, 2020

Halifax, NS (February 13, 2020) - The Thunderbirds announced today that the team has activated transition player Brandon Robinson off the practice squad. In a corresponding move, the Thunderbirds have moved defensemen Cory Becker to the practice squad.  In addition, the team has put Brayden Hill on the evaluation period list from the hold out list.  All transactions are pending league approval.

“Brandon Robinson is a big versatile player who provides us depth in both the defensive and offensive end of the floor,” said Head Coach Mike Accursi.  “Brandon can score goals and plays a very tough physical style of defense. His size and experience will benefit us in both ends of the floor.”

Robinson spent last season with the franchise seeing action in 10 games. He had four goals and six assists.

“We have tremendous depth on our team, but Brandon has been working very hard to crack our line up,” added Accursi. “His size and experience will provide us with an extra boost this coming weekend against a big physical team like Saskatchewan.”

The first place Thunderbirds look to get back in the win column Saturday night as they take on the Saskatchewan Rush at the Scotiabank Centre at 7PM local time.

The Thunderbirds and Rush will wear special military-themed jerseys on Saturday for DND Appreciation Night to be auctioned off with net proceeds going to VETS Canada.  Bidding is happening now at HalifaxThunderbirds.com/AuctionThe Thunderbirds will also donate a portion of the proceeds from the sale of special military-themed t-shirts, 51/49, and ticket sales to VETS Canada.
