Pat Gregoire Wins Tom Borrelli Award for NLL Media Person Of The Year

HALIFAX, Nova Scotia (June 29, 2022) - Thunderbirds Colour Commentator Pat Gregoire has been named the recipient for the Tom Borrelli Award, given to the National Lacrosse League’s media person of the year for outstanding coverage of the NLL. It is Gregoire’s first time winning this prestigious honour.
“I’m so incredibly honoured to be named this year’s Tom Borrelli Award winner,” Gregoire said. “It’s been a dream come true to help bring this beautiful game to TVs across North America this season. I’d like to thank Curt Styres, John Catalano and Charlie Ragusa for the opportunity to not only broadcast each and every home game for the Halifax Thunderbirds the past two seasons but also to fully support me in my role as analyst for TSN’s Game of the Week.
“I’d also like to thank our producer Dennis Davidson and my fellow broadcast partners Pete Dalliday and Tyson Geick. Those three are consummate professionals who make my job so easy and enjoyable every single time I put on the headset for a Thunderbirds broadcast. I’d also like to thank Joel Feld from the NLL and Paul Graham and Peter Buchanan from TSN for their continued support and opportunity in being a small part of a special partnership between Canada’s Sports Leader in media and the NLL.”
Gregoire completed his second season with the Thunderbirds as the Colour Commentator for all home broadcasts. He also served as the Colour Commentator for the TSN NLL Game of the Week and the NLL Finals. Gregoire’s contributions throughout the 2021-22 NLL season were instrumental to the success of the NLL’s first season on TSN and its Game of the Week broadcasts, introducing millions of fans across North America to box lacrosse and the NLL.
Gregoire is the Co-Host of the Off the Crosse Bar Podcast with former Tom Borrelli Award winner Teddy Jenner, an NLL-centric lacrosse podcast providing analysis of the league and its teams and interviews with lacrosse personnel across North America. Throughout the NLL season, Gregoire was a regular guest on the NLL’s weekly show Coast to Coast with Devan Kaney.

Thunderbirds Director of Communications and Sideline Reporter Tyson Geick and Vancouver Warriors Play-by-Play Broadcaster and host of the Lacrosse Classified podcast Jake Elliott, both former winners of the Tom Borrelli Award, were also nominated.
